I'm Akshay,
a Product & UX Designer.
I design clear digital products from complex workflows, systems and ideas, making every journey easier to understand and use.

Designing the whole journey, not a collection of screens.

02Open case study LUXTJ Extranet
The operational product behind listings, bookings, staff, offers and payments.
03Open case study ScotCare
An evidence-informed care-navigation concept designed around safety, clarity and continuity.
Results that speak.
People who saw the work.
Selected LUXTJ outcomes alongside recommendations from the people who worked closely with me.
Checkout drop-off
Reduced checkout drop-off from nearly 60% to 22% by restructuring dense travel information, improving hierarchy and simplifying the path from review to payment.
“You need people who care, adapt, take ownership and go beyond what was expected. Akshay is one of those people. Across the LUXTJ website, app and extranet, he approached every rethink with patience, openness and a genuine willingness to make the product better.”
Add-to-cart rate
Increased add-to-cart rate by prioritising decision-critical hotel information and guiding people towards a clear next step.
Profile engagement
Turned an overwhelming multi-page profile into a guided journey with clearer starting points and behavioural design principles.
One connected product
Led product design for the luxury-travel website and partner extranet, connecting customer and operational workflows across web, mobile and internal platforms.
Faster hotel decisions
Reduced friction by benchmarking leading travel platforms and redesigning hotel-detail pages to surface decision-critical information earlier, supporting faster progression towards checkout.
People who worked closely with me.
Four perspectives on ownership, collaboration and getting design into production.
“Akshay brought absolute clarity to our wireframe handoffs. He was remarkably receptive to technical constraints and team feedback. He doesn’t just design pretty screens; he questions assumptions, validates ideas through quick usability testing, and documents design systems so engineering handoffs are seamless. Any product team would be lucky to have Akshay's creative problem-solving skills.”
“What stood out was his strong sense of ownership, clear UX thinking, and ability to tell the story behind his design decisions in a way that made complex problems easier to understand.”
“He understands user needs and works well with developers to turn ideas into practical solutions. Akshay was open to feedback and clear in communicating his design decisions.”
“He communicated his ideas clearly, was open to feedback, and worked closely with the development team to make sure the designs were practical and delivered as intended.”
I came to UX by following the questions code couldn't answer.
Outside the screen / UKMy computer science degree taught me how digital systems are built. I became more interested in what happened on the other side of the screen, why a logical flow could still confuse someone, or why a useful feature went untouched.
Playing Rainbow Six Siege sharpened that curiosity. I started noticing how small interaction cues, feedback loops and split-second decisions shaped what players understood, and what they did next.
That curiosity moved me into Product and UX Design. For more than five years, I've worked with founders, engineers and stakeholders across travel, enterprise and service products, turning early ideas, constraints and edge cases into journeys people can actually follow.

I start with what people need to understand.
A few places I've been useful.
LUXTJ
Product Designer · Contract
Ran usability testing on the existing checkout flow to identify the top three friction points, then restructured information hierarchy and simplified the review-to-payment path, cutting checkout drop-off from 60% to 22%.
LUXTJ
Product Designer · Freelance
Designed 4+ end-to-end travel journeys and 50+ mobile screens across discovery, trip planning, booking, itinerary management, and post-booking experiences for a new luxury travel product.
Proficonlabs
UX Designer
Conducted AI-interaction research on Simpo AI’s website-creation flow to pinpoint where users abandoned the process, then rebuilt it around clearer task progression and simpler choices, cutting onboarding drop-off from nearly 65% to 13%.
Halohues Studios
UI/UX Designer
Reduced image conversion time by 40% by designing a simpler workflow for VFX artists, making technical controls easier to understand and reducing unnecessary steps in the conversion process.
